Hello world (again)!

·

After a long while, I decided to try and resurrect my blog. I’ll see if I can dig up some archives and resurrect some of the old content that used to be here, but for the time being, I’m starting from a fresh slate.

Why? Because after a long while it looks like I have something to talk about. Something I’m positively excited about and want to expand upon, rather than writing some drive-by tweets.

I’m actively involved in organizing a WordCamp this year – after a 10-year hiatus, WordCamp Lithuania is coming back this September (25th-26th). Back in 2015, that was the first WordCamp for me as a speaker and it set me on a path to do many more talks all across Europe. So I’m super excited to now be the speaker wrangler and, hopefully give the same opportunity for someone else.

There is also interesting things happening in the WordPress ecosystem. With FAIR and AspirePress building new technology and infrastructure, I believe that competition is going to bring a lot of innovation and, hopefully, positive change. I’m super excited to see that people have started publishing code, rather than just blog posts. I want to see more of that.

It is a bit ironic that I’m restarting my blog for that occasion. But I do need a space to talk about the code. Twitter is just not a good venue for that type of content. I have some things in the works by myself, I also want to dive into some of the code that others are publishing. Once upon a time, i loved to write. I want to see if I still can do that 😉

If that sounds interesting, stick around and let’s just see what happens here.
